One should recalled that, in general, dislocations are related to the thermal shear stresses generated during crystal growth.

The precise knowledge of the temperature field based on FEMAG global calculations allows to compute the tri-dimensional, non-axisymmetric and non-isotropic thermal stresses.

FEMAG-CZ uses the von Mises invariant VM (Pa) to represent the thermal stress levels. This invariant provides an estimate of the total shear stress in the crystal.
